Shipping nickel, zinc and alkaline based batteries

There are no official regulations in place for nickel, zinc and alkaline based batteries but common sense should be followed:

  • Wrap or pack the batteries so their terminals are covered to make sure they cannot come into contact with other batteries or external materials (such as the wall of a metal box container) that might cause them to short.
  • Use a strong box to prevent crushing which might split the battery cases and cause leaks.

No labeling or documentation is required but good packaging ensures your batteries will arrive in a usable condition.
